  5. Test under real conditions: After restoring power, I verify that the light comes on cleanly, without flicker or delay. I also check the surrounding area for shadows, making sure staff can read labels and see the floor clearly. In this case, the new LED in the back lit up the walk-in with a bright, crisp white light that made the shelving and evaporator area easy to see, and it was obvious how much stronger it was than the older, still-operating but dimmer fixture near the door, which now looked noticeably weak by comparison.
  6. Document and label: Finally, I note the fixture type, date of installation, and any observations about moisture or insulation. That way, if there is a future issue, we have a baseline to work from.
